Hello, I am a retired x-ray technition who was resting at home from shoulder surgery when my friend, who volunteers at HHTN, invited me to come down and see what she does. Well, let me tell you! I walked thru the door and was welcomed with open arms and invited to work in the food pantry distributing the food to clients. I was in hog heaven. I am known to have a little ocd and organizational tendencies so I started straightening cans and arranging items and my shoulder immediately was cured. This place has given me a purpose and a new family. I enjoy coming to volunteer, talking with all the clients and have gotten more hugs since my retirement. It is a blessing beyond belief to be able to talk and engage with the clients, to give them food, kind words and to make them feel special for just a moment. Sometimes they are sad and lonley but I try to lift their spirits while the truth is, they are lifting mine. Everyone here has opened their hearts and arms to me and other volunteers along to anyone who walks thru our doors. I am truly blessed. Come on down and let us show you around and bless you also.
